DJ Hero features a track list of 93 original mixes of over 102 songs covering a wide range of musical genres like hip hop, electronica, RB, Motown, pop, and rock.

The game's wireless Turntable controller brings creative novel twist to the "Hero" series as players use the Turntable to mix and scratch original remixes from the track list. The wireless Turntable controller features a rotatable turntable which has 3 "stream" buttons, an effects dial, a crossfader, and a "Euphoria" button. But what if you have a pal that just refers to catch on to the new wave and still favors to rattle and hum? Two versions of the game are available : the DJ Hero Standard Edition and the DJ Hero Renegade Edition.

The DJ Hero Renegade Edition includes a pimped out Renegade Turntable Controller, a Turntable carry case that switches to a performance-ready DJ stand, and an exclusive 2 disc CD featuring Jay-Z and Eminem music (including formerly unreleased tracks).
